Hello, my name is Mark Callender and I am a licensed real estate agent with RE/MAX Results. Because I have been helping families buy and sell their homes for more than 18 years, I am now helping their children to buy their first homes and their parents to downsize. No matter the direction you’re moving, my goal is to make the process as calm and enjoyable as it can be.

In the heart of Anoka, a new shop has opened its doors, but not just for caffeine lovers. Compassion Coffee is serving more than just lattes and baked goods. They’re serving the community in a way that’s heartfelt, tangible, and deeply needed.

Unlike big corporate chains, Compassion Coffee has a specific mission: to support individuals affected by homelessness. They are dedicated to helping those on their path to recovery or still seeking stable housing. The shop employs and trains people who are looking for a fresh start, helping them find stability and re-enter the community with confidence.

While you might notice the service is a little slower than what you’d get at your usual drive-thru stop, that’s part of the experience. Many of the workers are volunteers or participants in the program, and your patience is part of the support.

“Every cup you buy helps someone rebuild their life.”

While you might notice the service is a little slower than what you’d get at your usual drive-thru stop, that’s part of the experience. Many of the workers are volunteers or participants in the program, and your patience is part of the support.

They’ve also teamed up with Krown Bakery & Eatery next door to offer baked goods you can enjoy with your coffee. It’s a full-circle partnership between two local businesses that care about doing good in the neighborhood.

These are the stories that make us proud of our community. The people around us matter. It’s not just about homes, but about belonging, support, and second chances.

So the next time you’re thinking about grabbing a coffee, give Compassion Coffee a try. You’ll leave with more than just a cup of coffee, but knowing you helped someone take a step forward.

If you want to know more about Compassion Coffee, stay tuned to our next post, as we’ll be sharing part two soon with an interview from one of the directors behind the mission.
